 Nuzia Haisn Rasha

Nuzia Haisn Rasha completed her MA (2026) and BA (2024) in Linguistics at the University of Dhaka. Her undergraduate thesis, titled "Voicing Resistance: Gender, Power, and Counter-Hegemony in Khasi Language and Oral Tradition," examined how gender relations are shaped through linguistic practices and the influence of matrilineality on language use within the Khasi community. The research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Mashrur Imtiaz and involved fieldwork in Sreemangal and Jaflong.

Her research interests include language endangerment, the relationship between language and land, minority rights, gender and language, and gender-based violence. She is particularly interested in exploring the intersections of language, cognition, and society. Through her academic training and field experience, she has developed strong skills in qualitative research, ethnographic fieldwork, and sociolinguistic analysis.

She joined CRD in August 2026 as a Research Assistant in the Department of Research and Evaluation.
