Md Mokhlesur Rahman, PhD

Dr. Rahman is an international development professional with diverse expertise in a wide range of areas and themes. He has a PhD degree in Sociology (JNU, New Delhi, India) and has second Masters in Development Studies from International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Erasmus University of Rotterdam, Netherlands. His first master’s is in Women and Gender Studies from University of Dhaka. He has completed his graduation in Economics (with honors) and second bachelor’s in education. He has also presented papers in national and international conferences and written broadly on gender, livelihood, DRR, ICTs, and development.  

Dr. Rahman is a seasoned evaluation expert who has recently led evaluation of ABADEI (1.0) program of UNDP Afghanistan (one of the largest project in Asia Pacific region which has budget of $175Million). Histhematic expertise includes Gender, Livelihood, Community Empowerment, GBV & SH, GESI, WaSH, Food security, governance, access to information, DRR, Climate Change, Humanitarian Response, Conflict sensitivity. He has provided consultancy services in different geographic locations including Bangladesh, Afghanistan, India, Pakistán, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Philippines, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Lesotho and Netherlands.

Over the last 22 years, Dr. Rahman has accomplished 110 assignments. These are around endline/final/evaluations (28), midterm evaluations (4), baseline studies (23), empirical research (34), high value research management (2), system, framework and tools development (7) & capacity building related (12).  Clients of the services include UN agencies (ILO, UNICEF, UNDP, UN Women, IOM) and International INGOs (Helvetas, Tdh Foundation, BRAC, BRAC International, Swiss Contact, FH, GiZ, Internews Europe, HKI, iDE, EDUCO, CARE, Oxfam, World Vision, IRC, SI, MSH, ICCO Cooperation (ICCO), Christian Aid Ghana, TdH NL, HI, Practical Action, The Hunger Project (THP), ActionAid.
