A Study on  “Violence against Women in relation to land in Bangladesh”

The research on “Violence against Women in relation to Land in Bangladesh”, commissioned by the Association for Land Reform and Development (ALRD), aims to generate evidence on the forms, causes, drivers, and consequences of land-related violence against women in Bangladesh.

CRD is undertaking this research to map land-related violence against women, analyse enabling factors, and explore coping strategies while assessing legal and institutional roles in prevention and justice. The study will be conducted using a mixed-method approach integrating household survey with qualitative tools (FGDs, KIIs, and IDIs) to provide a thorough, evidence-based assessment.

The study will be conducted in selected districts representing diverse land conflict settings, including the Chattagram Hill Tracts, northern indigenous areas, char lands, forest lands, coastal displacement zones, and haor wetlands. The findings will inform policy reforms support government, civil society, donors, and communities in strengthening prevention, protection, legal reform, and service delivery.
