108. Baseline Study of NSSS Project

Baseline Survey of Nari Shakti, Samaz Shakti (NSSS) Project.

Helvetas Bangladesh, in collaboration with two partner organizations, is implementing the “Nari Shakti, Samaz Shakti (NSSS) Project”—a 36-month initiative focused on strengthening women’s empowerment, leadership, protection, and climate resilience in both Rohingya and host communities of Cox’s Bazar. The NSSS project aims to create a gender-transformative environment that empowers women and marginalized groups, enabling safer, inclusive, and resilient communities. The project seeks to enhance socio-economic participation and resilience of women aged 18–35 by fostering inclusive social systems, gender-equitable protection mechanisms, and community-based disaster risk reduction (DRR) structures.

CRD has been assigned to conduct the Baseline Study, which aims to establish benchmark data for the project’s key indicators across outcomes and outputs. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative surveys with qualitative tools such as Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), In-Depth Interviews (IDIs), and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs). A multidisciplinary team comprising gender, protection, DRR, and statistical expert is working together for this assignment. The findings will generate actionable insights to guide project planning, adaptive implementation, and progress tracking, ensuring that the NSSS project achieves its objectives of advancing gender equality, social protection, and climate resilience among vulnerable women and communities in Cox’s Bazar.
