Enumerators Training of Child Labour Project Project Evalaution
On 22nd October 2025, the CRD conducted the first day of a two-day training program for the field enumerators of the Endline Evaluation of “Strengthening the Right to Education for Child Laborers in Dhaka City”. The evaluation is conducted by CRD and commissioned by Educo Bangladesh. The evaluation focuses on children engaged in hazardous works in Dhaka city and seeks to provide flexible education opportunities while reducing child labor, contributing to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8.7 (Ending Child Labor). Aiming to enhance enumerators’ understanding of the study, the day-long sessions included overview on CRD, the evaluation context, objectives, methodologies, core thematic areas such as child labor, the right to education, and application of survey tools in the real setting.
Dr. Md Mokhlesur Rahman, Managing Director and lead consultant of CRD, inaugurated the training by welcoming participants, introducing all attendees, and presenting a brief about CRD and the evaluation. Mr. Mijanur Rahman (Project Officer, Educo) gave an overview of the project and background of the evaluation. Gazi Mohammad Suhrawardy (Head of Research & Evaluation, CRD) discussed the objectives and methodology of the evaluation. The key terminologies related to child labor and right to education were then discussed by Ms Mahmuda Akter (Deputy Manager, CRD). Mr. Muazzam Hossain (Project Officer, ESDO) talked about the operation, implementation and the potential challenges of conducting the evaluation. A session on survey tool was conducted. The day concluded with facilitating feedback, corrections, and suggestions on the survey tool.
