 Enumerator training for the Asia Resilient Cities (ARC) project

The Centre for Research and Development (CRD) successfully conducted a two-day enumerator training on 27th and 28th November 2024 at its training center in Dhaka as part of the Asia Resilient Cities (ARC) project. This training prepared enumerators for a scoping study exploring green livelihood opportunities for women in Khulna across four sectors: urban agriculture, renewable energy, waste management, and green construction. The sessions were attended by 10 enumerators along with study team members. In day-1, Ms, Farhana Afroz, Deputy Chief of Party, ARC Project- BRAC & Gender Lead, ARC Asia Region, and Ms Mahenur Alam Chowdhury, Manager Advocacy, Capacity Building, and Knowledge Management, ARC Project- BRAC participated and presented a session on ARC project.  Besides, the lead consultant Dr..Md Mokhlesur Rahman, Urban Agriculture and Value Chain Expert Mr. AKM Rafiqul Islam, and Project Focal Ms. Mahmuda Akter Anna were also present and contributed to the discussion.

First day, covered the project's objectives, respondent categories, and barriers faced by women in green livelihoods. Key facilitators explained the study's methodology, sampling framework, and questionnaire design, with interactive sessions and mock interviews to enhance understanding.

Second day, focused on technical training with a demonstration of the Kobo Toolbox for digital data collection, a detailed review of the questionnaire, and rigorous practice of field interactions. Enumerators participated in Q&A sessions led by Dr. Rahman to address challenges and refine their skills. The training emphasized ethical practices, effective communication, and professionalism, equipping participants to collect data efficiently for this critical study.
