Development of Sustainability Strategy for UN Women Cox's Bazar Sub-Office

UN Women’s sub-Office in Cox’s Bazar was established in 2018 to respond to the Rohingya crisis, focusing on protection, empowerment, and access to assistance for vulnerable women and girls. UN Women aims to transition from crisis response to a sustainable approach, necessitating the development of a Sustainability Strategy.

UN Women aims develop a Sustainability Strategy for its response to the Rohingya refugee crisis in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The Sustainability Strategy will describe how UN Women will adjust its programming in Cox’s Bazar to build in a nexus approach. The strategy will aim to:

1. Ensure programming is informed by a theory of change aimed toward long-term results that will be sustained over time, identifying key entry points for accelerating programming linked with the UNSDCF in Cox’s Bazar and UN Women’ corporate humanitarian strategy and gender equality accelerators.

2. Identify key stakeholders and partnerships for the achievement of key results moving forward, including roles and responsibilities; and

3. Develop a roadmap to ensure business continuity through the transition into programming across the humanitarian – development – peace nexus.

To achieve all the above objectives, lead consultant of CRD, Dr. Md Mokhlesur Rahman has been assigned.
