Funded by: EU
Project Summary:
The GEOP Project is a 3 years project is funded by European Union (EU) and being implemented by Christian Aid in partnership with the Ghanaian Institute of Welding (GIW), United Civil Society Organization for National Development (UCSOND), GRATIS Foundation, and the Ellembelle District Assembly. The 3-year duration of the project had ended in December 2019. During mid-October 2018, initiatives were taken to conduct a mid-term review.
The mid-term review was an opportunity to look at different aspects systematically & identify areas where more emphasis needs to be given for the rest of the periods. Through applying OECD/DAC criteria, the mid-term review tries to understand the progress the product is making. The main objective of the project was to assess the relevance of the GEOP project design as well as the extent to which the project is progressing towards reaching its overall intended objectives. The methodology of the review applied mostly qualitative approach and techniques for data collection which included In-Depth Interview (IDI), Key Informant Interview (KII), Focus Group Discussion (FGD), Small Group Discussion (SGD), etc.
In the end, it has been found that the project is highly relevant for the people & the country. The way the project had delivered is moderately effective. However, its delivery strategy had been found efficient. The likelihood of sustaining the project result was moderate and the level of impact that the project had contributed was also moderate.
