MD MOKHLESUR RAHMAN, PhD

• Dr. Rahman is a Senior Research and MEAL professional with 16 years of global experience having proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing MEAL systems and functions for complex programmes, leading research and knowledge management project, and conducting training for large audiences (gender, project management, reporting) in multiple countries.

Prof. Ayesha Banu, PhD

• Professor Banu was awarded PhD degree on Bangladesh Women’s Movement from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2015. She started her career as a researcher at the Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) in 1989. Her research interests include Feminism and Women’s Movement, Methodological Issues, Gender and Development, Poverty and Livelihoods, Religion, Body, Sexuality and inclusion.

Lila Rashid, PhD

• Lila Rashid, PhD, is a retired Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of the country. During her career, she worked in different departments of the bank in various capacities. Her notable contributions include formulating policies for the microfinance sector and helping the government establish Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA).

Prof. Sayema Haque Bidisha, PhD

• Professor Bidisha is a renowned labor economist in Bangladesh and is actively involved in the economic policy spectrum of the country. She worked for a number of research projects on labour market, gender and women empowerment, gender budgeting, migration and remittance earning, credit and food security, population and development, economic growth and exchange rate movements, skill and education, demographic dividend and youth population etc.

Syeda Amirun Nuzhat

• Ms. Nuzhat has been working with CRD as a Project Manager since February 2022. She has more than 18 years of professional experience. She has experience to develop and implement programs related to rights-based approach, governance and access to justice through peoples’ movement.

Md. Shafiul Alam

• Md. Alam is a highly motivated finance professional with 17 years of extensive experience in the field of finance, accounts and administration management and has expertise in preparing financial plans, monitoring & controlling resources and providing financial information about the financial position, performance, budget formulating and variance analysis, minimizing financial risk, developing and implementing financial policies & procedures.

Abdul Aahad

• Mr. Aahad is a research enthusiast who is currently employed as a Research Assistant at the GGiFI project, Centre for Research and Development (CRD). Before joining CRD, he worked as an economic data analyst intern at Biz Data Insights (a market research firm). He is proficient in a variety of data analysis tools, including STATA and R.

Arif Jawad Siam

• Mr. Arif is a Research Assistant at GGiFI Project, Centre for Research and Development (CRD). With his present experience in learning about gender inequality working under Professor Dr. Ayesha Banu, a prolific researcher in gender studies, alongside his previous experience in the collection, analysis, and presentation of both qualitative and quantitative data, he is enthralled to apply those skills gained towards creating a meaningful impact.

Ronjoy Sangma

• Ronjoy Sangma is a self-organized and dedicated support staff with 12+ years of experience in providing organizational clerical support. He has proven experience in managing files and dealing with another administrative team.

Prof. M. Shafiqur Rahman, PhD

• Prof. Rahman completed BSc Honours and MSc in Statistics from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He then completed 2nd MSc in Statistics from University of Nottingham, and PhD in Medical Statistics from Uinversity College London, UK.

Sanzida Akhter, PhD

• Dr. Sanzida Akhter served the Department of Women and Gender Studies as Chairperson from April 2018 to April 2021. Her undergraduate and Master’s degree is from the Department of Sociology of University of Dhaka. She has obtained her PhD in maternal health care seeking behavior from Flinders University, Australia with Australian Leadership Awards.

Soma Dey, PhD

• Soma Dey, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Women and Gender Studies, University of Dhaka. She obtained a PhD in Gender & Development Studies (GDS) from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. She achieved M. Phil, M.Sc & B.Sc degrees in Geography and Environment from the University of Dhaka.

Aditi Sabur

• Aditi Sabur is an assistant professor of department of Women & Gender Studies in University of Dhaka. Her main area of interest includes gender and construction of identities, masculinities and fatherhood, intersectionality, feminist theories and methodologies, gender, religion and minority issues etc.

Md. Nazmul Hossain

• Mr. Nazmul graduated in Economics in 2009 from the same department and later completed MSc in Mathematics from Western Illinois University, USA in 2018. His broad research interests focus on the field related to statistical analysis, applied econometrics and health economics.

Tonmoy Nath

• Mr. Nath has 3 years of experience in communication and advocacy focused on various sectors as education in emergencies, public nutrition and health, MHPSS, gender, livelihood, and DRR. The consultant has a well-rounded perspective and understanding of the development landscape as a development communication professional.

Md. Saiful Islam

• Mr. Islam is a dedicated economist with expertise in poverty, labor economics, digitization, and development economics. As a lecturer at the University of Dhaka and former Research Associate at BIGD, BRAC University, he conducts impactful research, focusing on public health, gender labor dynamics, and migration.
