Scoping Study on Green Livelihood Opportunities for Women in Khulna (Bangladesh)

CRD has been assigned to carry out the “Scoping Study on Green Livelihood Opportunities for Women in Khulna (Bangladesh)”. This study aims to inform Asia Resilient Cities (ARC)'s interventions to support green livelihood development for women in 4 (four) key sectors: urban agriculture, renewable energy, waste management & green construction. The ARC project is being implemented in four cities including Khulna in Bangladesh, Rajkot in India, Bishkek in Kyrgyz Republic, and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. BRAC has been implementing the ARC project in Khulna Bangladesh. CRD will conduct this scoping study in Khulna, Bangladesh. The scoping study will focus on the following:

  1. Analysis of the alignment between skills and competencies possessed by women and their alignment with the demands of the green livelihood sectors market; and
  2. Identification and analysis of the barriers and obstacles hindering women's entry and success in green livelihood sectors, including both demand-side (employer-related) and supply-side (worker-related) factors.
