DI innovates in creating and applying knowledge, tools, and strategies that significantly affect lives and bolster the efficiency of development aid. The organization operates with integrity and compliance with all pertinent laws, regulations, and rules. The Ain Shohayota Project, a five-year initiative funded by USAID and executed by Democracy International, aims to promote a people-centered justice system in 32 districts by fostering public engagement, inclusivity, and data-driven methods. This project will:

  • Amplify the demand for proactive justice services.
  • Encourage pro bono legal services.
  • Develop and utilize an evidence base to refine justice services.

This baseline survey's specific objectives are to thoroughly assess the community's legal literacy and capacity regarding justice services across all eight divisions. The survey will determine the community's understanding of their legal rights and the support available, assess their ability to maintain and advocate for these rights, and understand their confidence in the quality of justice services provided. This survey will be instrumental in identifying the present state of legal empowerment and suggesting improvements for legal aid and justice service provisions.

This survey, conducted by the Centre for Research and Development (CRD), will be led by Dr. Md Mokhlesur Rahman, Lead Consultant and Founder & CEO of CRD.
